About Andrea
February 12, 2009Thank you so much for visiting my blog! This is a special little place for me to share client sneak peeks, specials and promotions, and just general personal news from my life.
I’ll go ahead and get the personal stuff out of the way here. I tend to ramble and we all know you clicked on the “about me” page to see what this crazy lady is all about.
So.Here.It.Goes. I’m married. My husband is amazing. Sounds cliche, but absolute truth. I’m glad he chose me. I am a mom. Three boys. They drive me crazy. They make me smile. I love ‘em to bits even though they’re messy. In my past life I was a neat freak. My boys ruined that for me. I have a dog. She’s 13. When I was learning photography, she gained weight. She posed really well for treats. Was recently suckered into purchasing 4 hermit crabs for our youngest monster boy. They’re gross and fascinating at the same time. I end up taking care of said crabs. Go figure. My current obsession is Mountain Dew slurpees. Only from Speedway, not from 7-11. I’m (gasp!) 31. Could eat ice cream for breakfast if I knew kiddos wouldn’t bust me. Ben and Jerry are evil men. So is the person who invented the candy/toy set up for check out lanes. Have an English degree. Walked away from Master’s program for Education to do the photography gig. I chose wisely. Secretly love trashy reality tv. Can hold a grudge for my lifetime. Am missing a few eyelashes on my left eye from chicken pox. Was warned not to scratch them. Didn’t listen. Over twenty years later I am still just as stubborn. Recent morning person turned night owl. If it can’t go in the washing machine, I don’t buy it. I do not iron. Ever. Shhhh….I run the dishwasher just before I go to bed so my husband has to empty it when its done washing. Let’s hope he doesn’t read this. Clean sheet day is the best day of the week. When I can’t fall asleep at night I think of water. Lake water, not tap water. I am a self taught photographer. Always thinking outside the box. Wake up at night with wonky ideas. Husband is always one step ahead. Fairly certain he has reserved my spot at the Cuckoo Club. Sounds like a nice place. My job keeps my mind fresh. I love being goofy with kids I photograph. Yes, we play tag. Yes, we run around in the studio. Thinking I should not write my bio in the wee hours of the night…wait….morning? Either way, I am less coherent at 3:00am. Post it notes will be the death of me. I have about 30 of them next to me with my to-do lists scrawled on them. 30 is not an exaggeration. You cannot pay me to eat a pickle. And I don’t eat sandwiches. I take that back. Grilled cheese sandwiches are on my comfort food list. I had my license suspended when I was 17 for too many points on my record. Am still a fast driver. Some things never change. Am a very patient person. Except for rude people at the grocery store. I sleep on the right side of the bed. Always. I like to bake sweets. My thighs disagree. I read books like there’s no tomorrow. Non-fiction as of late. Talk to my mom pretty much every day. Am an only child. I was spoiled growing up. My kids are spoiled as they are growing. I blame my mom for that. Let’s hope she too does not read this. Crossing my fingers I’m handling life the way I should be. Like to think I’m doing a good job. As a parent. As a wife. With my business. I promise I do not usually write in small incomplete sentences. Or use run-ons. Trying to grow my hair long. Too crazy busy to do anything with said hair. “Ponytail” is officially penciled in my calendar for the next six months. I do not snore. I do not sleep on my stomach. My handwriting consists of all capitals. Realizing by typing this how ridiculously boring I am. But I’m okay with that.
Well, there it is. The short of it? I am a wife, a mother and a photographer. I love what I do.
It would be my greatest pleasure to share my vision with you. Clickity Click your way over to www.mishkaphotography.com to view samples of my work and portfolio.
