Alex {my senior}

October 26, 2009

This is my oldest, Alex.  He is a Senior at Catholic Central and is just itching to begin his journey.  I generally do not use the photo blog for bragging but this boy deserves some serious kudos.  He has earned all A’s throughout his high school career, his current GPA is a 4.53 (is that even possible??), he’s in National Honor’s Society, Gabriel Richard Club, he’s earned numerous awards, a varsity letter in track.  He is kind and generous and is an awesome brother and son.  He is on the road to success and there is no doubt in my mind that he will do wonderful things.

I am terrified to set him free in this crazy, chaotic world; scared his brothers will miss him tremendously (and even more scared about the withdrawl my husband and I will go through!). . . . .yet. . . . .I am excited for him to begin his adult life; make choices that will contribute to his success; experience life beyond the nest we’ve sheltered him in for so long.

Here’s a peek of Round One of senior pictures!  Stay tuned for Round Two. . . . .

Erica: These are awesome! He's a little cutie!

Angelique: You have a very handsome young man - you should be proud!

Kari Dawson: Your pride brought a tear to my eye and a shake in my boot. My son is a freshman and I know his graduation will come way quicker than I'd like. Well done mom! Children don't attain that level of success without great parenting!

corie: These pics are amazing! Your son looks terrific. I can't wait for our session with you on Sunday. :)

Bittersweet {my family} « Mishka Photography: [...] in October, I posted a peek of some of my oldest’s Senior pictures.  I cannot believe how quickly his senior year went by.  Yes, they go through messy stages, shy [...]

I met this family at Independence Oaks for their photo session.  This family is The.Funniest.Family.Ever.  I’m still smiling at Mom and Dad’s jokes!  I can only imagine how joyful their home is on a day-to-day basis.  They were hilarious, outgoing, smiling and fun.  It makes my job so much easier when I pair up with fun families - they were genuinely happy to be there taking family photos.  Thank you for the giggles and for choosing me to photograph your family.  Enjoy your sneak peek!

Angelique: Awesome - these turned out beautiful!!!!

Dennis: Great outdoor family pictures with the fall colors

Kara: Beautiful photos for a beautiful family.

I know I’ve said it before, but I love it when clients come back to see me!  Charli first came to see me when she was 3 months old and she is now a month shy of celebrating her first birthday.  She has grown so much, but still has the most laid back demeanor and is simply adorable.  Thank you for choosing me to photograph your baby girl - next time I see Miss Charli she will be walking!  Sigh. . . . .they grow so quickly!!!

Zombie Walk {royal oak}

October 12, 2009

Unsuspecting shoppers and those out for a casual evening meal were in for a surprise on Sunday.  Royal Oak was taken over by ZOMBIES!!!  The undead came out to walk the streets yesterday for a good cause - - Gleaners Food Bank - - in the annual Detroit Zombie Walk.  There were hundreds of them - zombie dogs, zombie babies, zombie brides, zombie priests, zombie doctors.  It was fantastically entertaining!  If you’re interested in participating in this event in next year, visit Zombie Walk Detroit website here.

admin: Hi Aron, I would be more than happy to send you some images. Will send you an email. . . .

October 8, 2009

Effective December 1, 2009 the standard session fee will be increasing (don’t shoot the messenger!!).  For clients who have already booked 2010 appointments, please note that the change in price will not affect you.  If you are intrested in booking a session and would like to save on your session fee, please contact me asap to discuss scheduling.  All sessions booked and paid for before December 1st, even if your appoinment falls in 2010, will be subject to the current $100 fee.  And, because a post is not complete without a photo. . . .I thought this one was appropriate for the news. . . . .

Sorry folks…..there is nothing cuter than a baby in a knitted hat…..or a baby in a pumpkin for that matter!  Although I have a plethora of hats to choose from for your session, consider purchasing a hat for your little one at www.etsy.com to make your session that much more unique.  Everything on Etsy is handmade, professionally crafted, and did I mention handmade?  There’s a whole lotta talent going on over at Etsy.  You can even support your local crafters and choose the search option to “shop local.”  Check out this little cutie.  Both hats purchased from debrobinson’s shop.
