Popping Up

April 24, 2009

My fellow photographers: if you do not know Jodi of MCP Actions, you need to know her and you need to start stalking her blog.  She is a genius -  -a Photoshop Rockstar.  She’s featured two of my blog boards on her site!  Click here to see them (the maternity and floral boards are by yours truly).  Jodi offers a plethora of tools to speed up your editing process, fantastic informational online courses to master certain areas of photoshop, as well as daily tidbits and helpers on her blog.  Check her out!

And, because a post is not complete without a photo, here’s another of the train station.   I just never tire of these images.  Happy Friday!  Enjoy this a.w.e.s.o.m.e weather!!!!

A Day in the D {detroit}

April 21, 2009

A group of fellow photographers and I headed down to Detroit this past weekend with plans to photograph the train station.  Things never go as planned.  Just as we made it into the station, the police interrupted our harmless little scheme.  Soooo, this time we were only able to photograph the exterior - there’s always next time!  It is a gorgeous building and although I recognize it is beyond repair, I am devastated approval has been given to bring it down.

Baby Sydney has grown sooooo much in such a short time.  Here’s a sneak peek of her 3 month shots.  Still as sweet as can be!

Happy Easter

April 12, 2009

Well the Easter Bunny made his way to our home and my kids are bouncing off the walls and I don’t think I can eat deviled or hard boiled eggs for 365 more days.  Whatever your plans are for this sunny day, I hope they include family, love and chocolate.

I had so much fun giggling with these two.  We were able to catch some sweet and serious shots as well as some unique and fun shots - - I love it when my clients give me freedom to capture their special moments.  This couple, let me tell ya, are so in love and so goofy - a perfect combination for positively perfect parents!  I cannot wait to meet your Little Miss in June!!  Enjoy your sneak peek!

Today I photographed this little clan of MSU fans.  Two sets of twins who, if I had to bet, keep Mom and Dad on their toes.  The boys are definitely the “all boy” type of boys who think butts are funny (on a personal note, I’d like to know whether boys ever grow out of that - - my 14 and 16 year old boys still laugh at butts and toots).  If we even said the “b” word, the boys were in hysterics - so funny.  Meanwhile, Marin just took her brothers’ goofiness in.  Thank you for choosing me to be your photographer!  Enjoy your sneak peek!

Brendan and Maisa came to me through the Littlest Heroes Project and it was a great pleasure to meet them both.  You’d never know these two adorable kiddos are suffering inside - they are both so smart, so sweet, so outgoing and so brave.  It was a joy to meet this duo.  Enjoy your sneak peek!

p.s.  Happy Birthday Maisa - I hope your fifth birthday is a blast!

Turning Five {isabelle}

April 7, 2009

I have the most fabulous clients with the most beautiful kiddos.  Isabelle’s Mom called and asked me if I would photograph her daughter’s fifth birthday party.  I was so excited when she told me the party would be held at Maalouf Salon in Birmingham.  Isabelle and her closest friends were pampered with fancy hairdos, mini manicures and glamorous makeup.  To top the event off, the girls walked the catwalk and gave a fantastic little runway show.  Totally sassy and simply adorable!  Thank you for allowing me to be part of your special day.  Enjoy your sneak peek!

The Boy {florida}

April 4, 2009

Whew!  We’re back from vacation and I am frowning because my flip flops are now stuffed in the back of my closet.  We had awesome weather in Florida - 96 degrees one day!! - and we returned to cold, wet, rainy Michigan yesterday afternoon.  We headed down to Florida to celebrate my grandmother’s 80th Birthday and Mr. Luke had an absolute blast.  We were on the go-go-go the entire time.  I have so many photos to edit from the trip but this is one of my favorites.  I know the photo will probably not seem like much to some, but my mommy goggles are on and I just adore this photo - the sun was shining on his milky skin just right, his cute pirate bathing suit with nothing but sand between his toes and gorgeous blue sky.  Please tell me the sun will shine again in Michigan??  I promise to share more soon - I really need to get back in the swing of things business-wise first.  Check back!
